UPDAETS!!!!@
I si uploading my new pics of crappy pings in UT. They are higher than teh level of teh sea!
//3|_(3()// +0 //y |-|03// |043G!
I'm back at college and am suffereing throuhg the shit hole of a network that Albright COllege has. I get 1kb downloads instead of the 75kb I get back at home on cable which is a slightly slower connection then my T1 here at college. BUt unfortunately the morons here don't know what they are doing so I have to suffer through slow browsing and crappy online conditions.

Well, to be perfectly honest, I'm sick of this network so I'm going to send them a little letter:

I was getting some horrid pings and drop outs/time outs on some virtual conferencing software
the other day and I was wondering why (it had been happening since last year, but I never thought os DOS pining).
Also the 487bytes/sec dowload speeds that made getting an 1 mb file a two hour project really baffled me. This is
a t1 connection and it's supposed to be faster than a cable connection, yet it feels a lot worse than a 14.4 on AOL.

Naturally I opened up DOS to ping a few places and, not to my suprise, I recieved some horrid results.

I don't see why it is soo bad, I'd think that a college campus could atleast run a decent network, but
I could have been mistaken.

*note*

· These tests are taken at different times and on the times that are supposedly when everyone is
off the network, (3:40 am) the results were just as bad.

· The tests have been from various weeks and months. There is no signs of improvement, only a decrease
in network performance

· This file/message has been formatted to fit the .txt format for Windows.

· This is not a personal attack on anyone, please do not take this as one.

· I am paying a fee for the network, I want to see some of the money I've put into it, through the raised fee last
year payoff to a better overall network.

I did a tracert to www.albright.edu, the site is being hosted campus AFAIK.
This is just pathetic.

The first 2 hops look good, but the second is a bit high for a LAN/WAN.

And note how many time outs I receive during the test. This isn't right for a so called
"Knowledgeable" team of network admins. Someone should get fired or the people running
the network should go back to school because they obviously failed thier networking courses.

Thank you for your time. I would appreciate any answers you decide to give me.

What is going on now.
I'm not doing much. I'm attending college and I'm totally swamped with work for my major, which is Digital Media btw. :)

Other than that I've gotten back into karate with one of my friends here, but the cold is restrcting our practice time. :/

Oh well, there's always the gymnasium mats. :p
